Class Structure
WARM UP:
Specific to skill/Strength and Metcon of the day.
A brief run through the session is followed by a WU that primes the brain+body for the specifics in class, i.e. deadlifts or handstands. We assess body mechanics and teach different levels of technique in the warm-up, helping you know your level later on. Mechanics+technique = Prepared. Most group coaching is done here
STRENGTH:
Powerlifting or oly based. %’s or complexes
We always prioritise good mechanics, especially in strength, as it forms the foundation of your fitness. We use all elements of strength training, including compound lifts, different body part splits, and various equipment/ tempos and rep ranges to give the best possible stimulus. Coaches tailor this to each client's goals, levels, and capabilities, helping them get the most out of their training.
SKILL:
Strength gymnastic/ oly-based technique
This can be based on gymnastics, strength, or Olympic lifting. We use drills and technical breakdowns while your coach demonstrates everything and cues you throughout to help you pick your level. Everyone is good at something and needs improvement elsewhere. This builds body awareness, mental resilience and a thirst for performance over motivation.
METCON:
Short/Long endurance/ power. A plan is key!
Metcons are designed with certain stimuli in mind, which means you need a game plan. Everyone tackles it differently, regardless of their fitness level, age, or experience. This is key to seeing long-term results, knowing their strengths and weaknesses, and learning to lean into being uncomfortable. Coaches talk strategy for YOUR LEVEL, giving you targets and creating a performance mindset!
What Can I expect out of a crossfit Class?
CrossFit is the sport of fitness with 4 main pillars- Olympic Lifting, Gymnastics, Fitness and Strength. A class usually has a mixture of any of the 4, with a bias of 1-2 depending on the day and timeline of the program. The coach will be expecting you, give you a tour, and have a chat. Coaches tailor the program to each client depending on their level, sport or exercise background, WHY, and goals. This is what makes the CrossFit method so unique. No matter your experience or age, we all come together to challenge ourselves and support each other!
What Programming do we use?
Designed in-house with YOU in mind. Our clients love pushing themselves, seeing results and having a good time, so we program for different levels and use a “scaling method” in our sessions. This means EVERYONE scales something- leaving any EGO at the door. Our program makes you fitter and stronger and challenges you to create new goals and unlock skills you never thought possible. We don't do random workouts. Progressive overload and thoughtful planning provide results and consistency, as motivation alone never works.
Do I need to be fit before starting?
You take lessons at somethinf to be able to do it right? Like Driving!
